Where: CEDAR Cabin, Durland Scout Reservation, Oscawanna Lake Road / Clear Lake, Putnam Valley (the one with the large field in front)

Fee: $10 per non-scout in order to defray the costs of food (dinner, breakfast, snacks)/supplies.

Please also let us know if there are serious food allergies that we need to accommodate by not having certain food items present.

Join us for hiking, Gaga, scout skills, team building, den-specific rank advancement activities, a campfire and s’mores – a day and evening full of good old fashioned outdoor fun!

If you wish to stay overnight, please note that the cabin will NOT be available for sleeping indoors due to COVID precautions. All overnight stays will be tenting only, and only family members allowed within a given tent. A few general rules/guidelines:

  • This is NOT a dropoff/pickup event. A parent/guardian must be present at all times AND supervising his/her children at all times (written consent must be provided if someone other than the parent/guardian will be attending)
  • Siblings are always welcome if you feel they are of the appropriate age and stamina to participate in activities . A general rule of thumb is that they should be at least kindergarten age, the age of our youngest scouts.
  • You don’t need to stay the entire time. Arriving late or leaving early, or leaving and coming back, will be just fine. We understand how busy the weekends are!
  • If you arriving in the morning before the hike, you must bring your own bag lunch.
  • Sleeping over is completely optional. Many scouts stay only for the afternoon/evening.
  • Bathrooms are in a separate building between 2 cabins, so flashlights are a necessity.
  • The cabin does have a full service kitchen, but we do need to be careful with any food containers due to it being a wooded location with many “critters.”
  • There is limited parking at the cabin and you may not park in other cabin’s spots or along the road. There is a larger lot at the end of the road.
  • Please wear red Pack T shirts if you have them. It is extremely helpful in keeping track of our kids. Other red T shirts are also helpful, if you do not have a red Pack shirt.
